As activity continues behind the scenes in the CHP, Sözcü columnist Can Coşkun shared notable information regarding new proposals submitted to the CHP Headquarters.
Based on information he received from certain officials within the party, Coşkun wrote that scenarios involving both Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş have come to the agenda.
According to Coşkun's claim, it was noted that the proposals recommended considering Mansur Yavaş as the presidential candidate and Ekrem İmamoğlu as the vice-presidential candidate, taking the age factor into account as well.
In this formula, it is stated that the goal is to limit presidential powers while equipping the Vice Presidency to be given to İmamoğlu with powers close to those of the former Prime Ministry.
THIS PROPOSAL WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE PARTY
However, Coşkun also stated that these proposals have not found an official response at the CHP Headquarters at this stage.
Nevertheless, it is stated that the "dual formula" discussions could come to the agenda again in the coming period, especially as the election process approaches.
