New confession in Mehmet Akif Ersoy investigation: 'He was recording our sexual encounters'

Journalist E.G., who is in custody as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has appeared before the prosecutor again to give a statement. E.G. made serious allegations against her former partner Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Veyis Ateş.

In her statement, she claimed that Ersoy and Ateş used the game of "spin the bottle" as a tool to manipulate women, using the game to make sexual demands and subsequently introduce them to narcotics.

According to Sema Kızılarslan from GDH, E.G. stated that they gathered with Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Veyis Ateş, and others at a house in Piyalepaşa on March 8, 2019, International Women's Day.

'TAKE OFF YOUR BRA'

She alleged that the "spin the bottle" game played later in the night turned into sexual demands. In her statement, E.G. said that the men gave each other sexually explicit instructions during the game and that Veyis Ateş made offers to her such as, "Take off your bra, come here, spend 3 minutes in the next room with Veyis."

E.G. claimed that Mehmet Akif Ersoy carried out this practice systematically. She stated that the women's reactions were tested during the game, and those who did not react were offered narcotics.

E.G. said, "Looking back at these events today, these people would make every girl play spin the bottle, measure their reactions, and then offer them narcotics."

E.G. said that she was introduced to drugs for the first time at Mehmet Akif Ersoy's house, through the mediation of Veyis Ateş.

Describing that night, E.G. said, "Veyis Ateş took drugs out of his pocket and we all used that substance. That night was the first time in my life I saw narcotics." She also emphasized that Veyis Ateş behaved in a harassing manner while she was under the influence of drugs, which caused her great trauma.

MEHMET AKIF WAS RECORDING

Stating that Mehmet Akif Ersoy recorded the events on his phone during the time they were in a relationship, E.G. alleged that these videos were used by Ersoy for blackmail and manipulation purposes.

E.G. said, "Mehmet was recording the things we experienced on video. He used them to manipulate me even after we broke up."

Giving an example of how Ersoy tried to manipulate her even after they separated, E.G. said, "He tried to manipulate me by calling me on a video call on the first day he went on his honeymoon with Pınar."
