New designed taxis are coming to Istanbul: Color selection will be determined by survey
New colors and designs are being determined for 2,500 app-based commercial taxis expected to hit the roads in Istanbul soon. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) has launched a 5-option survey for the vehicles, which will be wrapped in foil instead of painted. The designs, which will be applied to Fiat Egea model vehicles, will allow app-based taxis to begin passenger transport.

The Fiat Egea model was chosen for the project, which is planned to be carried out with foil wrapping over a white base color.
Following the completion of technical issues such as infrastructure, regulation, and operational procedures, the app-based vehicles are expected to begin passenger transport after being foil-wrapped at IBB facilities.
The designs for the app-based commercial taxis feature a roof light.
Since they will not be picking up passengers from the street, the use of a roof light may not be necessary.

The designs of the taxis will be determined according to the results of the survey launched by the IBB.
