THE QUESTION OF HOW THE FIRE STARTED IS BECOMING CLEAR
Meanwhile, the question of how the fire started is also beginning to become clear. According to allegations, while restaurant staff were preparing breakfast before the fire, hot oil splashing from a flat-top grill caught fire. Chef Faysal Yaver and kitchen staff Yusuf Karahanlı, Fidan Kurç, and Mehmet Gündüz, who saw flames rising from the kitchen, wanted to intervene in the fire. According to the news in Sabah, when the employees tried to extinguish the flames with water instead of using a fire extinguisher, the flames grew even larger and spread around. It was noted that the growing flames jumped to the uncleaned hood and then to the chimney, from where they spread to the roof and engulfed the hotel in a short time.
EMPLOYEES PANICKED AND FLED
It was noted that the kitchen staff, who panicked after the fire, were frightened and went outside, and that the guests staying at the hotel could not be notified that the fire had started because the fire alarm did not work. The fire, which started on the 4th floor where the restaurant is located according to the hotel's rear entrance, grew in a short time and engulfed the entire building.
