Experts from the Ministry of Family and Social Services had initiated efforts to help Narin Güran's cousins return to their daily routines following the murder.

"PSYCHOLOGICAL ADVERSITY"

The team monitoring the children's social adjustment processes had determined that some of Narin's cousins were experiencing psychological adversity due to the incident. It was learned that some of Narin's cousins, whose peace or well-being was assessed to be at risk, have been taken into state protection.

INFORMATION PROVIDED TO THE PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION

Özge Aydiş Toy, General Manager of Legal Services at the Ministry of Family and Social Services, provided important information to the parliamentary commission investigating measures against child neglect and abuse.

Stating that they identified 158 children in Tavşantepe Village, Toy said, "We identified over 50 children from the Güran family. We obtained court-ordered protective measures for some of them." Toy also explained that Ministry personnel are implementing measures for the children in the village.

Toy responded to another question by saying, "We make a special effort to ensure that children are not handed over to family members in cases where a father has killed the mother. Because they should not be exposed to that environment of mourning and conflict."

BABY SILA CASE

"From the moment the missing person report was received in the Narin incident, we started working with all the children in the village, and we have also been following the judicial process. In the baby Sıla case, as the Ministry, we requested that the mother be punished for the crime of 'intentional killing by complicity,' as we believe she did not commit this crime through neglect, but directly.

'THE MOTHER WAS AWARE OF THE PROCESS'

It is very striking that the mother was aware of the process and that this was not a simple case of neglect. The step-grandmother of the children who were dragged into crime does not have any status in this case. She is listed as the person who took on the care of these children, but she claims she had no knowledge of the process. As the Ministry, we have filed a criminal complaint against this person as well.

We have also filed criminal complaints regarding the fathers of the children. There is a picture where there is a situation beyond the mother's neglect; she knows, but she continues to leave the child there."
