New 'solution process' meeting at the Palace: 13 demands of DEM Party, which met with Erdoğan, revealed

In the new 'opening' process, architected by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and referred to by the government as a 'Terror-Free Turkey,' the DEM Party Imralı Delegation went to the Palace and met with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The meeting, which lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes, was attended by Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan on behalf of the DEM Party, while Erdoğan was accompanied by MİT Chief İbrahim Kalın and AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala.

As Erdoğan and the DEM Party established face-to-face contact for the first time in 13 years, details regarding the critical meeting have emerged.

According to the report by Başak Kaya from Sözcü, the 13 demands of the DEM Party Imralı Delegation that met with Erdoğan have been revealed. Here are those points...

1. The isolation of Öcalan should be lifted. Freedom of communication should be guaranteed.

2. A special law should be enacted for the PKK's disarmament process.

3. The principle of equal and free citizenship should be guaranteed by law.

4. A 'Democratic Transformation and Peace' bill should be prepared.

5. Ill prisoners should be released.

6. A special authorized commission should be established in Parliament for the peace process.

7. The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) should meet with all political parties to prepare a consensus text.

8. The practice of appointing trustees (kayyum) to municipalities should end.

9. Mayors in prison should be released, tried without arrest, and reinstated to their duties.

10. Legislative proposals regarding the 'right to hope' should be brought to the agenda.

11. Obstacles to freedom of organization should be removed.

12. The current Anti-Terror Law should be amended.

13. Decisions of the ECHR and the Constitutional Court must be implemented.
