New Year's traffic restrictions begin in Istanbul and Ankara: These roads are closed to traffic
Certain roads in Istanbul and Ankara have been closed to traffic as part of New Year's celebrations and security measures. ISTANBUL
Beyoğlu
The roads in Beyoğlu that will be closed to traffic as of 14:00 are as follows:
- Istiklal Avenue and all streets and avenues leading to it will be closed to traffic.
- Takı Zafer Avenue will be closed to traffic.
- Sıraselviler Avenue will be closed to traffic in the direction of Taksim Square from the intersection with Hocazade Street.
- Asmalı Mescit Street will be closed to traffic.
- Dünya Sağlık Street will be closed to traffic.
- Osmanlı Street will be closed to traffic.
- On Tarlabaşı Boulevard, the entrances to Zambak Street, Atıf Yılmaz Street (Sakızağacı Taxi Stand), and Balo Street will be closed to traffic.
- The direction leading to Istiklal Avenue from Yeni Çarşı Street, Turnacıbaşı Street, Meşelik Street, and Sadri Alışık Street will be closed.
- Aslan Yatağı Street and Kazancı Slope, which lead to Sıraselviler Avenue, will be closed to traffic.
- Hamalbaşı Street will be closed to traffic starting from its intersection with Ömer Hayyam Street.

In addition to Istanbul, some measures have been taken for New Year's celebrations in the capital, Ankara.
According to the statement made by the Ankara Police Department, starting from 19:00, the section of Aşkabat Avenue between Akdeniz Avenue and Oğuzhan Asiltürk Avenue, and the section of Bestekar Avenue between Tunalı Hilmi Avenue and J.F. Kennedy Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic.
If necessary, the entirety of GMK Boulevard, the section of Atatürk Boulevard between the Sıhhiye Military House and Akay Junction, the section of Milli Müdafaa Avenue between GMK Boulevard and Yahya Galip Avenue, the section of Ziya Gökalp Avenue between Kolej Junction and Kızılay Junction, the section of Tunalı Hilmi Avenue between Kuğulu Park and Esat Avenue, the section of Tunus Avenue between Tunalı Hilmi Avenue and J.F. Kennedy Avenue, and the section of Oğuzhan Asiltürk Avenue between Azerbaijan Avenue and Kazakhstan Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Again, if necessary, all of Filistin, Azerbaijan, Selanik, Yüksel, Olgunlar, and Kumrular avenues, as well as İnkılap, Karanfil 1 and 2, and Konur 1 and 2 streets may be closed to traffic.
