The suspect's defense, who claimed, "I made all the Zamzam water, I don't think it's fake," has been revealed. While 16 tons of fake Zamzam water were seized in the warehouse, it was noted that aroma and sweeteners were used to make it resemble the real thing.

Bilal Ç., who was determined to have established a major fraud network by producing fake Zamzam water in Adana, was caught by police teams during an operation. In a search conducted at the home of the suspect, who was determined to have made 90 million TL in illicit gains by producing fake Zamzam water for 5 months, 16 tons of fake Zamzam water, filling machines, and labels were found.
''I MADE ALL THE ZAMZAM WATER''
Coordinated by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch moved into action following information that fake Zamzam water was being produced in a house in Akkapı Neighborhood. Within the scope of the operation, the business owner, Bilal Ç., was caught red-handed.
In his statement, Bilal Ç. made surprising defenses and said the following:
“There was a very high demand for Zamzam water. I took Zamzam water from trucks coming from Mecca and mixed it with tap water. I don't think these waters are fake. Because I haven't received any complaints from customers so far. I made all the Zamzam water in Turkey. I have been doing this job for about 4-5 months.”
16 TONS OF FAKE ZAMZAM SEIZED IN WAREHOUSE
During the raid conducted by police teams, 16 tons of fake Zamzam water ready for sale, 300 rolls of bottle labels, and water filling machines were seized. Additionally, it was determined that the daily production capacity in the warehouse was 20 tons.
''WE USED AROMA AND SWEETENERS TO MAKE IT RESEMBLE THE REAL THING''
Examinations revealed that aroma and sweeteners were added to the Zamzam water to make it resemble the real thing. It was determined that the fake Zamzam water was sent from Adana to Istanbul and released to the market from there.
EARNED 600 THOUSAND TL DAILY
It was alleged that Bilal Ç., who was determined to have been producing fake Zamzam water for about 5 months, earned 600 thousand TL daily during this period and generated a total income of 90 million TL.
FAKE ZAMZAM WATER DESTROYED
While the 16 tons of fake Zamzam water seized by police teams were destroyed, the investigation launched against Bilal Ç. continues.
It was learned that other individuals are also on the suspect list regarding the production and distribution of fake Zamzam.
