Fatma D. had filed a lawsuit claiming that the father of her 3-year-old son, Uzay, is businessman Hacı Sabancı, who married Nazlı Kayı in 2021.
In the hearing held last week at the Istanbul Family Court, the court decided to refer Hacı Sabancı to the Council of Forensic Medicine to determine whether he is the father of the child named Uzay.
The court also ruled that Hacı Sabancı and Fatma D. must come to the court clerk's office with 2 passport-sized photographs each for their referral to the Council of Forensic Medicine's Department of Biology, otherwise they would be brought in by police force.
Fatma D. arrived at the Istanbul Courthouse with her 3-year-old son, Uzay, for the DNA testing procedures. After completing the necessary referral procedures for the paternity test, Fatma D. then went to the Council of Forensic Medicine with her son to provide a DNA sample.
Hacı Sabancı, however, requested a one-week extension from the court, citing that he is abroad.
