The lawsuit filed to cancel the 38th Ordinary Congress and the 21st Extraordinary Congress of the CHP, where Özgür Özel was elected chairman, was heard today at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance.

Announcing its interim decision, the court rejected the request for the precautionary removal of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the members of the Party Assembly (PM) and Central Executive Board (MYK), and adjourned the next hearing to October 24.

Onur Yusuf Üregen, the lawyer for former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, who filed the lawsuit, targeted Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, CHP leader Özgür Özel, and the CHP administration during the hearing.

Üregen stated, "The manipulation of the congress through organized opposition to the Capital Markets Board (SPK) by multiple defendants, coordinated by the then-Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and the current Chairman Özgür Özel, has nullified the will of the congress. Indeed, as a result of an investigation by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding this organized crime activity, lawsuits have been filed against numerous party members. The summary of proceedings (fezleke) process, which would lift the immunity of the suspects, including the Chairman and members of parliament, is also ongoing."

Üregen's use of the term "organized crime" while demanding the reinstatement of former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration until a decision is reached on the cancellation of the ordinary and extraordinary congresses raised tensions in the courtroom. CHP deputies addressed the judge, saying, "You cannot let him speak like this."

Meanwhile, it has emerged that plaintiff lawyer Onur Yusuf Üregen has a photo with organized crime leader Sedat Peker. Sharing the image, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir stated that Üregen had tried to have the photo deleted and noted the following:

"I want to draw attention to who Lawyer Onur Yusuf Üregen is, who made remarks targeting our Chairman, our presidential candidate, and our pristine party during today's session of the conspiracy lawsuit filed against our party's congress.

This individual shamelessly used the term "criminal organization" in court. But lo and behold, there are dark images in his past that he tries to hide. I am sharing his photo with you.

You might not be able to find this photo if you search for it on the internet. Because Üregen made a concerted effort to have this image deleted from both his own website and social media. But there is one thing he forgot: Nothing on the internet ever disappears!
