Prison sentence ruling for Esra Ezmeci
In the case filed against Esra Ezmeci for the unauthorized use of the title "clinical psychologist" on her office sign in Beşiktaş, the court handed down a 10-month prison sentence and deferred the announcement of the verdict.

It was determined that the sign at the entrance of the office of psychologist, author, and presenter Esra Ezmeci in Beşiktaş contained the phrase "clinical psychologist."
During an inspection conducted by teams from the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate, it was discovered that Ezmeci did not possess a diploma that would authorize her to use this title.
INVESTIGATION PROCESS INITIATED
Following the inspections, authorities reported the situation to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The indictment prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that Ezmeci used a professional title different from her own without authorization.
According to the report on Son TV, Ezmeci, whose statement was taken, said that she had taken courses in the field of clinical psychology and completed a master's degree; she argued that she did not use the title "clinical psychologist." The prosecution, however, considered the expression on the sign as a criminal element.
COURT ANNOUNCED ITS DECISION
In the case heard at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance, Ezmeci was found guilty under the "Law on the Practice of Medicine and Medical Branches."
The court sentenced her to 10 months in prison and decided to defer the announcement of the verdict.
APPEAL FILED AGAINST THE DECISION
Following the decision, Ezmeci took the case to a higher court and filed an appeal.
