Pro-government media reports: What did Erdoğan tell AKP deputies regarding the PKK terrorist organization's disarmament process?

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave critical messages regarding the current state of the fight against terrorism during a breakfast meeting he held with party deputies the other day.

Emphasizing that reports from the field are positive, Erdoğan said, “The process is proceeding as we planned. There are no problems visible at the moment.”

Sharing details about the organization's disarmament process during the meeting, Erdoğan stated that the “moment of surrender” footage expected from the PKK would be shared with the public in the near future. Erdoğan noted that this process is being monitored carefully and that developments on the ground are progressing in this direction.

WEAPONS WILL BE DESTROYED BY BEING INCINERATED WITH ELECTRICAL DEVICES

President Erdoğan said that the inventory of weapons in the organization's possession has largely been compiled and that a clear plan has been established for how the surrendered weapons will be destroyed. Erdoğan said, “The surrendered weapons will be destroyed by being incinerated with electrical devices.” It was stated that a symbolic and practical step would be taken with this method.

MEETING WITH DEM PARTY SOON

According to the report by Yeni Şafak, President Erdoğan also announced that he would hold a meeting with a DEM Party delegation next week. It was learned that he used the expressions, “I will meet with the DEM delegation on Wednesday. We will evaluate together to what extent the issues we previously stated have been fulfilled.”

COMMISSION TO BE ESTABLISHED IN PARLIAMENT

Drawing attention to the political dimension of the process during the meeting, Erdoğan conveyed that a special commission would be established in Parliament shortly. This commission is expected to address the technical and legal regulations regarding the resolution process.
