Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, who dismantled the 'Newborn Gang', responds to threatening post

Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, who dismantled the baby-killing 'Newborn Gang', has now made headlines with his response to a post made about him on social media.

Quoting the threatening post which read, "Every hero has an end. And it is usually a painful one. We will wait and see," Engin added the following note:

"DO YOUR WORST"

"I am not a hero; I am just a Turkish prosecutor doing my duty. But heroes never run out in this country. Do your worst."

HE WAS THREATENED IN HIS OFFICE

Büyükçekmece Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin did not bow down to the 'Newborn Gang' that targeted him. Refusing to take a step back despite the threats, Engin accepted evidence related to the gang and changed the course of the investigation.

Appointed to Istanbul in April 2024, Prosecutor Engin issued the order for the operation against the organized crime group on just the 20th day of his tenure. Having won public appreciation for his determined stance and upright posture, Engin also caused a wide stir on social media.

WHO IS YAVUZ ENGİN?

Prosecutor Yavuz Engin was born in Germany in 1989. Continuing his education in Turkey, Engin completed his primary education at Bolu 50. Yıl Middle School.

He graduated from Bolu İzzet Baysal Anatolian High School in 2008. Entering the Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2009, Engin graduated in 2013. After completing his legal internship at the Istanbul Bar Association that same year, he began his service as a prosecutor candidate in 2014.

Following his internship, he was appointed to the Saruhanlı Public Prosecutor's Office. In April 2024, he was appointed to the position of Büyükçekmece Public Prosecutor by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors.
