In the case that concluded in recent days, Emir Sarıgül was sentenced to 6 years and 13 months in prison for the crimes of "knowingly and willingly assisting without being a member of the organization" and "providing financing for terrorism."
Within the scope of the case, former Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç and former Şişli Mayor Hasan Hayri İnönü were also tried.

According to the report by Seyhan Avşar from Gerçek Gündem, Emir Sarıgül's flight has also been confirmed by his family.
His father, Mustafa Sarıgül, who is a CHP Erzincan MP, stated that his son is in London and made the comment, "Hopefully he will return next week." While Father Sarıgül did not provide definitive information regarding his son's return date, he used the expressions, "Hopefully, hopefully he will return next week."
