Important details regarding the investigation and trial process conducted in connection with the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır have come to light. The case file, which consists of 10 folders, contains exactly 4,000 pages.
In the file, which is full of photographs, images, and statements, 172 people have been questioned to date in the capacity of witnesses or persons with knowledge. However, the statements appear far from shedding light on the dark points of the incident.
"I DIDN'T SEE, I DIDN'T HEAR, I DON'T KNOW"
Almost all of the individuals who gave statements within the scope of the investigation provided similar responses.
"Did you see Narin Güran on August 21? If you saw her, where and at what time did you see her?" The answers given to this question were striking:
Ironworker: "I never saw Narin."
Village Imam: "I know most of the students who come to the Quran course; I don't know Narin."
Village Guard: "I didn't see her at all this year, and I didn't see her before she went missing either."
Butcher: "Our house is a bit outside the village, so I never saw her."
Villager: "I didn't see her and I don't know her."
These statements made it even more difficult to find answers to questions regarding the resolution of the murder.
AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCES
In the verdict announced on December 28, Narin Güran's uncle Salim Güran, brother Enes Güran, and mother Yüksel Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.
