Snowfall begins in Istanbul following AKOM warnings
Cold weather has begun to take effect in Istanbul, and AKOM has announced that it expects snowfall in 3 districts. Snow, which has started to fall intermittently in Çatalca, is also being seen as short-term snowfall in Silivri and Arnavutköy. Following warnings from the Meteorology Department and AKOM, cold weather has begun to take effect in Istanbul.
While short-term snowfall is expected particularly in Çatalca, Silivri, and Arnavutköy, heavy downpours will be effective in Büyükçekmece and its surroundings. As the air temperature drops below 10 degrees, the cold weather will continue until Monday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology and AKOM have drawn attention to the fact that cold weather will increase its impact in Istanbul.
As of 15:00, short-term snowfall has begun to take effect in higher areas such as Çatalca, Silivri, and Arnavutköy.
The snowfall is expected to increase in intensity in the coming hours.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) reported that there will be short-term sleet and snowfall in Silivri, Çatalca, and Arnavutköy between 15:00 and 23:00.
