‘Sorosist’ feud between AKP and the Palace: Şamil Tayyar to Mehmet Uçum: That’s how they make you eat your words, I’m breathing down your neck

Statements made by Mehmet Uçum, chief advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, regarding the current agenda during a program he attended, have sparked a crisis between the Palace and the AKP.

Speaking about the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli for Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Uçum had stated that there was no disagreement between Erdoğan and Bahçeli and that both parties were aware of the steps taken.

Addressing the public debate over a new peace process, Uçum's statement that "it should be understood as the language of a state initiative developed to view the PKK as a Kurdish political movement" drew a harsh reaction from former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar.

-Tayyar had used the following expressions in his statement:

“Mehmet Uçum is not just anyone. He is the Chief Advisor to the President. He is the Head of Legal Policies.

He defines MHP leader Bahçeli's Öcalan move as follows:

‘It should be understood as the language of a state initiative developed to view the PKK as a Kurdish political movement.’

This definition is not ordinary, like Uçum's title, and cannot be taken lightly.

The MHP leader must have an answer to this claim; otherwise, the conclusion would be that the MHP views the PKK terrorist organization as a ‘Kurdish political movement’.

Our President, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, or AKP spokesperson Ömer Çelik also need to make a statement on this matter. If the issue is not clarified, it will be understood that the state has developed an initiative to view the PKK terrorist organization as a ‘Kurdish political movement’.

In other words, this would mean the PKK participating in elections and Abdullah Öcalan, Murat Karayılan, Cemil Bayık, Duran Kalkan, and their armed comrades entering parliament. Every minute of silence on this issue will impose a very heavy political cost on the People's Alliance.

The response to Tayyar's outburst came from the Palace. Presidential Advisor Ayhan Ogan told Şamil Tayyar, ‘You are sowing discord’.

Şamil Tayyar did not remain indifferent to the words spoken about him by Presidential Advisor Ayhan Ogan and gave the following striking response:

"They say there is no error in a simile.

…I hit him on the head, the sound came from behind."

Ayhan Ogan made a new post following Tayyar's outburst and used the following expressions:

"With us, both the head and the tail are clear. 

It is not clear what kind of people you are"

Tayyar, who did not leave Ogan's words about him unanswered, continued his statements as follows:

“I am addressing Soros's representative in the Presidential Complex and his two lackeys here.

I am aware of every kind of villainy you commit.

You will not be able to give direction to the AK Party and the state, you will not reach your dirty ambitions.

You mistake our President's majesty for your own shadow, you are constantly acting like you own the place, your one-shot virtual Sorosist rule will also collapse and disappear soon.

You Sorosists, you.”

RESPONSE FROM OGAN TO THE ‘SOROSIST’ ACCUSATION

Presidential Advisor Ayhan Ogan responded to Tayyar's ‘Sorosist’ accusation by saying, “There isn't even a shadow of Soros in the Presidential Complex. The Turkish state does not need our intellect. The Republic of Turkey, with the move it has made, will take the wits of hypocrites like you.”

NEW STATEMENT FROM UÇUM

Following this debate, Mehmet Uçum made a new statement. In his post titled "Principle of Organic Integrity in Counter-Terrorism," Uçum said, "Just as there is no negotiation with terrorist organizations, there is no negotiation of terror with states that use terrorist organizations."

"It has been stated many times that the state does not view terror elements in Iraq and Syria differently in its fight against terror. Accordingly, the PKK, PYD, and YPG are not separate from each other; they are terrorist structures in organic integrity in terms of their general management, purposes of use, and the powers that direct them," said Uçum, who made the following post: 

"Persistent statements have been made before by all authorities, especially our President Erdoğan, that there will be no compromise on organic integrity in the fight against terror. As a result, there is a State initiative developed against the portrayal of the PKK-PYD-YPG as a Kurdish political movement and aimed at rescuing Kurds from terror exploitation. 

Do not attempt to distort the expression 'it should be understood as the language of a state initiative developed -AGAINST- viewing the PKK as a Kurdish political movement,' which was said for exactly this purpose, contrary to its meaning, no matter what your intention is; no one will be fooled."

Upon this, Şamil Tayyar made a new post accompanied by an image of the relevant part of Uçum's statement, saying, "Once you got scolded, you suddenly became enlightened, you Sorosist. That’s how they make you eat your words. You are saying you were misunderstood by adding the word 'AGAINST' between your words regarding the PKK terrorist organization. Nonsense cannot be justified, but so be it. My advice is, don't get involved in matters above your pay grade again, I'm breathing down your neck."
