Spring is not coming to the country: Meteorology issued a warning: Storms, dust transport, and heavy rainfall are on the way!
The General Directorate of Meteorology has warned citizens across Turkey against heavy rainfall, strong winds, and dust transport. Strong rainfall and storms are expected in many regions.

According to the latest weather forecast report from the General Directorate of Meteorology, partly to very cloudy weather is expected across Turkey. Intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern Marmara, southern and inner Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia regions, as well as in the surroundings of Tekirdağ and Çanakkale after midday.
According to the meteorological forecasts, rainfall will be locally heavy in some regions. The provinces where heavy rainfall is expected are listed as follows:
Central and Eastern Black Sea,
Eastern Anatolia (except Malatya, Van, and Iğdır),
Muğla, Aydın, Uşak, Denizli, Afyonkarahisar,
The western inner parts of Antalya,
The western parts of Isparta and Burdur,
In Central Anatolia: Ankara, eastern Eskişehir, Çankırı, Kırşehir, Yozgat, northern Kırıkkale, Sivas,
In the Black Sea: eastern Karabük and Kastamonu,
In the Southeast: the surroundings of Adıyaman, northern Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Batman, and Siirt.
WEATHER IN OUR REGIONS
MARMARA
Very cloudy; intermittent and local showers and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern parts of the region and in the surroundings of Tekirdağ and Çanakkale after midday. Winds are expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north and northeast in the western parts.
AEGEAN
Very cloudy; intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected in the southern and western parts of the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Aydın, Muğla, Uşak, and Denizli. Winds are expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north and northeast along the North Aegean coast.
MEDITERRANEAN
Very cloudy; intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the western inner parts of Antalya and the western parts of Burdur and Isparta after midday.
CENTRAL ANATOLIA
Partly to very cloudy; intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in Ankara, Çankırı, eastern Eskişehir, northern Kırıkkale, and the surroundings of Sivas after midday, and in the surroundings of Kırşehir and Yozgat in the evening hours.
WESTERN BLACK SEA
Very cloudy; intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in eastern Karabük and the inner parts of Kastamonu after midday.
CENTRAL and EASTERN BLACK SEA
Partly to very cloudy; intermittent and local showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the inner parts of the Central Black Sea, the Eastern Black Sea, and the surroundings of eastern Samsun and Ordu.
EASTERN ANATOLIA
Very cloudy; intermittent and local showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy across the region, except for Malatya, Van, and Iğdır. Winds are expected to blow strongly and reach storm force (50-80 km/h) from the south and southeast in the southeast of the region. Dust transport is expected in the east of the region.
SOUTHEASTERN ANATOLIA
Very cloudy; intermittent and local showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the region. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Adıyaman, northern Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Batman, and Siirt. Dust transport is expected to be observed throughout the region.
