Terrorist leader Öcalan's letter fails: Syrian PKK branch SDF refuses to lay down arms
Following a letter sent from İmralı to the SDF, it has been reported that the SDF, the Syrian branch of the terrorist organization PKK, has rejected the call to lay down its arms.

It has emerged that a call was made from İmralı Island to the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces), which is the Syrian extension of the PKK and is recognized as a terrorist organization, to lay down its arms and comply with the agreement signed with the Damascus administration. However, it is stated that the SDF responded negatively to this call.
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli had recently stated that a delegation from the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly should meet face-to-face with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan.
Following Bahçeli's proposal, the diplomatic and security bureaucracy in Ankara began working on this issue rapidly. Turkey is focused on finding solutions that will eliminate the threats posed by the SDF.
ANOTHER STEP FROM WASHINGTON
The Washington administration is also involved in these developments. US Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack took SDF leader Mazlum Abdi to Damascus and facilitated a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Immediately after this meeting, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan hosted Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Hasan Shaibani in Ankara. During the meeting, Fidan stated, "The SDF must be taken out of the equation." Shaibani responded by saying, "We are in dialogue with the SDF."
ÖCALAN'S MESSAGE AND THE SDF'S RESPONSE
Following Bahçeli's request for Abdullah Öcalan to call on the SDF to lay down its arms, it was revealed that a letter was sent from İmralı to the SDF. In the letter sent by Öcalan, the SDF was called upon to comply with the agreement signed with the Damascus administration and to lay down its arms.
According to the report by Nefes, the SDF rejected this call, stating, "If steps such as the unilateral and sudden transfer of weapons or administrative powers are taken without the process being guaranteed in all its aspects, we face the risk of irreversibly weakening our political maneuvering space."
