A murder reminiscent of the Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi case has taken place in Istanbul. In Güngören, 17-year-old Atlas Çağlayan was stabbed during a fight between two groups sparked by a 'glance' dispute.
Despite all interventions, Atlas, who was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, could not be saved.
It was learned that the killer who ended Atlas's life was 15 years old. Following the murder, police detained Atlas's killer, E.Ç.
The testimony given to the prosecutor's office by E.Ç., who was arrested by the court, has been revealed. In his statement, 15-year-old killer E.Ç. said the following:
"On the date of the incident, I went to a cafe in Güngören with my friends A.A.H., S.Y., and M. While I was leaving the cafe with my friends and standing in front of it, a person named Atlas Çağlayan, whose name I learned as a result of the incident, who was in another group leaving the cafe, swore at me, saying 'what are you looking at?' He came towards me.
Upon this, I took out the knife I had on me and swung it. I stabbed him in the stomach once. Afterwards, they laid the boy on the ground. The friends who were with me also beat me and insulted me.
I started waiting there. My friend A.A.H., who was with me, told me to give him the knife, and I gave him the knife I was holding. While he was holding the knife, those in the cafe told him to throw the knife on the ground. Ada also threw the knife on the ground.
When the police arrived, they caught me at the cafe. They took possession of the knife. I did not know Atlas Çağlayan before; I accept the accusations as I have described them."
