An explosion occurred at an ammunition factory in Balıkesir yesterday morning around 08:25 for reasons yet to be determined. Following initial efforts, it was announced that 11 citizens had lost their lives and 7 people were injured in the explosion.
The identities of those who lost their lives due to the explosion and collapse at the ammunition factory have been determined. Teams are continuing their work at the scene regarding the explosion.
It was determined that the factory personnel who lost their lives in the explosion were Tuğba Demir (21), Çetin Karamüftüoğlu (38), Muhammet Ergin (34), Özlem Özçakır (33), Tuba Sert (41), Enes Kırmızı (28), Seda Akın (35), Seçil Çapa (24), Müberra Sönmez (45), Selin Karanlıkoğlu (27), and Elif Özgür (19). Their bodies were sent to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
Autopsy procedures for the bodies are ongoing at the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
A PAINFUL DETAIL HAS EMERGED!
Eight of the victims were women and three were men. It has emerged that the women working in capsule production were employed in this department because their fingers are smaller.
It was learned that those with smaller fingers were preferred in this area of the factory because they could more easily place the paste inside the capsules.
