The stronghold is lost! The turning point is the İmamoğlu operations

Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and the appointment of trustees to companies owned by his father, Hasan İmamoğlu, it is alleged that there has been a significant decline in support for the AKP in Trabzon. 

According to journalist SaygıÖztürk'sarticle, a portion of his fellow citizens who believe that the operation against İmamoğlu was unjust have terminated their AKP memberships.

In his column published in Sözcü, Saygı Öztürk expressed the reaction of the people of Trabzon to the pressures applied against Ekrem İmamoğlu. According to Öztürk, following İmamoğlu's arrest and the appointment of trustees to his father's companies, many people who believe an injustice was committed against İmamoğlu have resigned from the AKP. This situation has led to the AKP losing votes and a decline in party memberships in Trabzon.

Emphasizing the erosion within the party in Trabzon and the falling number of members, AKP Ortahisar District Chairman Dr. Seyit Hisoğlu sent a message to the members. In his message, Hisoğlu pointed out the weakness in organizational efforts, stating that they are second to last in Turkey regarding party member registration. Hisoğlu expressed the seriousness of the party's situation by saying, "In our work, what Ankara sees is more important than what we do."

Hisoğlu's message stated that the AKP organization has been working day and night in recent months to register members, but the results obtained have not reached the desired level. Stating, "In this sense, our report card is very weak," Hisoğlu emphasized that member registration efforts must be accelerated. In his message, he used the expressions, "As an administration that has been running day and night for about 10 months, knocking on every door and touching every heart, our efforts are about to go to waste."

SPARE SOME TIME, LET'S REGISTER MEMBERS

Hisoğlu asked organization members to spare time to reach out to their friends and relatives and contribute to member registration efforts. He urged them to support the party by saying, "Please spare some time and reach out to our friends and relatives around us, or other members of families who have devoted their hearts to our cause living in the same house, and let us help with the member registration mobilization."
