Thousands of students from Istanbul University come together! 'The university does not bow!'

As protests rise across Turkey following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, a major demonstration was also held at Istanbul University. Thousands of students gathered at the university's main gate to make their voices heard in defense of rights and the law.

Stating that the detention procedures are a form of political pressure, the students demanded the release of İmamoğlu and the ensuring of the rule of law.

While the protest reflects the reaction of thousands of people across the country standing up for democracy, the demonstrators marched while chanting, "The university does not bow!"

Students participating in the protest blocked entrances and exits to the university, sending a message of unity against injustice.
