Trump's striking message about Musk: 'This will be his last day...'

Elon Musk, who was appointed by U.S. President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in January, has announced that his term has come to an end.

In a statement on his social media account, Musk said, "As my term as a Special Government Employee concludes, I would like to thank President Donald Trump for giving me the opportunity to reduce waste."

In his statement, Musk also emphasized that the DOGE mission has become a "way of life" across the government, stating his belief that the culture of systematic savings will be permanent.

Following Elon Musk's announcement that he was stepping down, U.S. President Donald Trump also made statements on his own platform, Truth Social. Trump said, "This will be his last day, but not really. Because he will always be with us and will continue to help in every way. Elon is a great person."

Trump also announced that they will hold a press conference with Musk in the Oval Office tomorrow at 1:30 PM, implying that this meeting, which has a farewell atmosphere, will carry symbolic meaning.

SAVINGS TARGET FROM 2 TRILLION DOLLARS TO 150 BILLION DOLLARS

When Elon Musk took on the DOGE role in January, he drew attention with his goal of reducing U.S. federal spending from 2 trillion dollars to 1 trillion dollars, and then to 150 billion dollars. In this context, he had initiated structural reforms in many government agencies and departments.

However, Musk's reform efforts caused friction with some high-level Trump administration officials, and it was reported in the press that there were disagreements, particularly with those resisting the cuts to public resources.
