Warning from Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen: Severe southwesterly winds and snowfall are coming to Istanbul
Meteorology expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen issued important warnings regarding extreme weather events that could affect many regions, especially Istanbul, this week. Şen stated that severe southwesterly winds (lodos) and rain are expected starting Wednesday, and that with the drop in temperatures over the weekend, snowfall will be seen in the Marmara, Central Anatolia, and Black Sea regions.

Stating that we will see extreme meteorological events one after another this week, Şen issued warnings for Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The meteorology expert said, "We will see extreme meteorological events one after another this week. Starting Wednesday, lodos in the Marmara, Aegean, and Central Anatolia regions for 3 days may cause roofs to blow off and trees to fall. On Thursday and Saturday, heavy rain in the Marmara, Mediterranean, and Aegean regions may cause flooding," he stated.
WHEN WILL IT SNOW IN ISTANBUL?
Pointing out that temperatures will drop over the weekend, Orhan Şen warned of snowfall, including in the Marmara region, saying, "Starting Wednesday, along with the lodos, temperatures in the north will exceed 20 degrees. Over the weekend, temperatures will drop rapidly, and snowfall will be seen in Central Anatolia, the interior parts of the Black Sea, the high altitudes of the southeastern Marmara, and Eastern Anatolia, and it will leave the country after 2 days."
