Water levels in Istanbul's dams are falling

There has been a decline in the occupancy rates of the dams supplying water to Istanbul in recent days. With insufficient rainfall, water levels in the dams have begun to recede.

According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of dams in the megacity was 82.93 on April 22, while according to today's data, it has become 81.68 percent.

The highest water amount in the dams was in the Kazandere Dam at 96.65 percent, while the lowest water amount was in the Sazlıdere Dam at 58.36 percent.

According to İSKİ data, as of April 27, the dam occupancy rates in Istanbul are as follows:

• Ömerli Dam 93.91 percent

• Terkos Dam 81.37 percent

• Sazlıdere Dam 58.36 percent

• Pabuçdere Dam 95.77 percent

• Kazandere Dam 96.65 percent

• Istrancalar Dam 77.01 percent

• Elmalı Dam 94.71 percent

• Darlık Dam 82.1 percent

• Büyükçekmece Dam 72.61 percent

• Alibey Dam 63.04 percent
