While citizens condemned to a starvation wage struggle with the cost of living, the prices at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) restaurant astonished those who saw them.
A social media user shared the bill received at the Parliament restaurant. It was observed that the prices for a table where 8 people dined were far below market rates.
According to the shared list, Hasan Paşa Meatballs were priced at 66 TL, Lamb Shank with Keşkek at 72 TL, Grilled Meatballs at 160 TL, Lamb Skewers at 175 TL, Seasonal Salad at 24 TL, and the dessert offered, Pistachio Feast, was set at 18 TL.
While these prices were found to be quite affordable when compared to similar dishes offered in restaurants outside, citizens criticized the fact that the prices at the Parliament restaurant, which is supported by public funds, remain low.
Despite the rapid rise in prices at many eateries and restaurants due to inflation, the fact that prices at the TBMM restaurant are relatively lower has caused a widespread reaction on social media.
