Following President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan's decision to extend the holiday to 9 days, the operational status of public institutions and service sectors has become a subject of curiosity. Many places, including banks, hospitals, and courier companies, will be closed throughout the holiday.

Will banks and hospitals be open during the holiday?

All public institutions are closed during religious and national holidays and are unable to provide services. Under normal circumstances, the three-day holiday will be extended to nine days with the inclusion of administrative leave.

Those with business, particularly in public institutions, are focusing on the operating days and hours of banks, notaries, courier companies, pharmacies, hospitals, and family health centers for the upcoming week, outside of the standard holiday period.

ARE BANKS OPEN DURING THE HOLIDAY?

Private and public banks will not be able to provide services during the holiday period.

Since the first day of the holiday falls on Sunday, March 30, the last transactions at banks can be made until the end of the workday on Friday, March 28.

WHEN WILL BANKS REOPEN?

Due to administrative leave, banks will be completely closed next week and will resume services on Monday, April 7.

Health clinics will be closed on April 2, 3, and 4, 2025, due to administrative leave. While hospital emergency departments will remain open, pharmacies will operate according to a duty roster. Pharmacies on duty can be queried via e-Devlet.

Notaries are professional organizations with legal personality that function as public institutions. The Ramadan holiday will take place on Sunday, March 30, and April 1. While notaries are closed on official holidays, duty notaries will continue to provide services.

ARE COURIER COMPANIES OPEN DURING THE HOLIDAY?

Courier companies are also among the businesses that will not provide services during the holiday.

Branches will be closed throughout the holiday period, and no courier deliveries will be made.

PTT, MNG Kargo, Yurtiçi Kargo, Sürat Kargo, PTT Kargo, Aras Kargo, and other companies will not provide services during the holiday.
