Gendarmerie General Commander addresses crowd with Erdoğan's words: 'We came to be servants'

Speaking at the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Graduation Ceremony attended by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, Gendarmerie General Commander Arif Çetin stated, "We did not come to be masters of this nation, but to be its servants. In the Century of Turkey, we are also ready to defend the flag in the footsteps of our heroic martyrs."

In his speech delivered in the presence of President Erdoğan, it drew attention that Çetin used the words "we did not come to be masters of this nation, but to be its servants," which Erdoğan frequently uses at his rallies.

Mr. President, as your excellency has stated, we did not come to be masters of this nation, but to be its servants. Mr. President, Mr. Commander-in-Chief, I express my gratitude to your excellency for not withholding your support from us in providing the personnel, vehicles, equipment, materials, and all kinds of resources necessary for the Gendarmerie General Command and the Coast Guard Command to successfully carry out their duties.

Mr. President, in the Century of Turkey, in the century of compassion and mercy, in order to succeed in the duty and task that falls upon us in ensuring the peace of Turkey, we are ready to embrace the flag alongside our heroic army and our heroic police, in the presence of our dear martyrs and in the footsteps of our heroic veterans.

Mr. President, Mr. Commander-in-Chief, I express my gratitude on behalf of myself and my entire organization for honoring our academy with your presence on this important day for these young brothers and sisters, our young personnel.
