Gendarmerie General Commander Arif Çetin retired: Claims proved true

Gendarmerie General Commander Arif Çetin, who spoke at the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Graduation Ceremony and addressed the families in attendance with the words of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, was retired by a decree published in the Official Gazette just hours after making this speech.

It was alleged that Çetin was close to former Interior Minister Soylu and that the Ministry of Interior wanted to retire him for this reason.

The Official Gazette stated, "General Ali Çardakcı, Deputy Commander of the Gendarmerie, has been appointed to replace General Arif Çetin, Commander of the Gendarmerie, who has been retired due to age limit."
