Gendarmerie Petty Officer Emre Polat has been martyred

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement on his social media account that Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Emre Polat, who was injured after falling on sloped terrain while apprehending a wanted suspect, has been martyred.

Minister Yerlikaya used the following expressions in his post regarding the matter:

"May our nation be comforted.

Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Emre POLAT, serving under the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command, was severely injured after falling on sloped terrain while apprehending a wanted individual and was martyred despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken.

I pray for God's mercy upon our martyr; I extend my condolences to his family, our Gendarmerie Organization, and our Nation. May our martyr's place be exalted."
