General Directorate of Meteorology announces weather forecast: Temperatures to rise across the country
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has released its weather report for Wednesday, March 5, 2025. According to the report, while no precipitation is expected across the country, strong winds from northern directions (30-50 km/h) are forecast for the surroundings of Çanakkale, and a storm (40-60 km/h) is expected in the eastern part of the Eastern Mediterranean. Dust transport is reported in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia, while there is an avalanche risk in the high altitudes of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia.

The MGM report states that air temperatures across the country will hover 4-8 degrees above seasonal norms. The report notes that the wind will generally blow from northern directions at light to moderate strength. It is expected to blow strongly from northern directions in the surroundings of Çanakkale (30-50 km/h) and as a storm in the eastern part of the Eastern Mediterranean (40-60 km/h). The MGM stated that temperatures across the country will be higher compared to previous weeks.
It was reported that there is an avalanche risk in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and on the high and steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia. In the MGM's statement, it was said that the high snow cover formed due to recent snowfall will increase the avalanche danger in these regions. Additionally, it was reported that icing, frost, haze, and occasional fog are expected in the inner and eastern parts during the night and morning hours.
Dust transport is expected to be seen in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. The Meteorology department called for caution against problems that may be caused by dust transport.
