General Directorate of Security erases Atatürk from Great Offensive post!

The General Directorate of Security did not mention the name of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in its post for the 103rd anniversary of the Great Offensive Victory, and also erased Atatürk from the photograph it prepared.

The post made by the General Directorate of Security on its social media account regarding the August 30 Great Offensive Victory has drawn backlash.

While the name of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was not mentioned in the post, it was observed that Atatürk had been erased from the famous photograph taken at Afyon Kocatepe in the image prepared.

 

Citizens reacted to the EGM's Great Offensive post that excluded Atatürk.

REACTION TO EGM FROM HISTORIAN SINAN MEYDAN

Historian and author Sinan Meydan left the following comment on the EGM's controversial post:

“The original painting in the collage you shared actually included the famous photograph of Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at Afyon Kocatepe, didn't it? It is not in your painting. Furthermore, you did not mention the name of the Commander-in-Chief of the Great Offensive, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in your post text.

Do those posting on behalf of the Turkish Police Service not know that there can be no Great Offensive celebration without Atatürk?

No one has the power to erase the Commander-in-Chief of the Great Offensive, Gazi Marshal Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, from the Great Offensive.”
