Gezi Park closed ahead of ceremony for Sırrı Süreyya Önder at AKM

DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder had undergone a 12-hour operation following a heart attack on April 15 and was being treated in intensive care.
Önder, who had been receiving treatment for 18 days, passed away yesterday at approximately 16:10 due to multiple organ failure.
A memorial ceremony will be held for Önder today at 11:00 at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Taksim. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery after the funeral prayer, which will be held at the Barbaros Mosque in Levent following the afternoon prayer.
