Gökhan Zan addresses voters with a video message: 'Every vote you cast is valid'

Gökhan Zan, who was withdrawn from his candidacy for Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor by the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP), announced on his X account that he has not withdrawn and asked for votes.

In a post on his X account, Gökhan Zan sent the message 'I have not withdrawn' and asked for votes.

In his post, where Zan wrote, "I have not withdrawn! I am officially and legally a candidate. Every vote you cast for Gökhan Zan (your brother, your son) is valid. We are together until we turn darkness into light! #VotesForGökhanZan #VotesForTip #ChangeIsNecessary," he stated the following:

"My dear fellow citizens, my dear people of Hatay; fake conspiracies, perceptions, and dirty games have collapsed on their heads. I am officially and legally a candidate, I have not withdrawn. I invite you all to the ballot box for the March 31 local elections to support your brother, your son, Gökhan Zan. Every vote you cast by stamping 'yes' on the TİP logo, which is in the 32nd position as the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral candidate, is valid. We are together until we turn darkness into light! Stay with love."

THE REVOCATION OF GÖKHAN ZAN'S CANDIDACY

The Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) had nominated former national football player Gökhan Zan for the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty, but later requested his withdrawal due to audio recordings that emerged and the allegations voiced over them.

TİP MP Ahmet Şık stated that they called for Zan to withdraw following a technical report indicating that the audio recordings were authentic.

Şık also alleged that Zan had negotiated with him for a sports commentary position on TRT. Gökhan Zan, on the other hand, filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the audio recordings in question, citing conspiracy and blackmail, and stated that he would continue his candidacy despite TİP's request for him to withdraw.
