Gökhan Zan's statement on 'Lütfü Savaş': 'I applied to the YSK at 16:55'

Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Hatay Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Gökhan Zan stated that he was offered a bribe to withdraw his candidacy and that he was threatened by the mafia.

"THE MAFIA THREATENED ME TO WITHDRAW"

Speaking to Ruşen Çakır on Medyascope, Gökhan Zan stated that he was offered a blank check as a bribe to withdraw from the race and shared the following:

"They offered me a blank check to withdraw, to not be in this race, saying, 'Write whatever you want.' I did not accept this. Furthermore, people referred to as the mafia have threatened me through intermediaries twice to make me withdraw. I am not someone who will bow down to these people." 

"I WAITED UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE"

Emphasizing that he would not leave the people of Hatay without options and that he waited until the last minute for his official candidacy application, Zan explained that he applied to the Supreme Election Council (YSK) at 16:55 after the CHP did not withdraw Lütfü Savaş's candidacy:

"I waited until the very end to unite on the right candidate. However, you will both want me to withdraw, come to me with immoral offers, use many people as intermediaries to get me to accept, and threaten me with the mafia to make me bow down. I stand behind my people to the end. As a child and brother of the Workers' Party of Turkey and Hatay, I am in this race."
