The Kahramanmaraş Governor's Office had issued a statement regarding reports that the family of Infantry Contracted Private Müslüm Özdemir, one of the 9 soldiers who lost their lives in the Claw-Lock Operation region, was staying in a tent because they could not heat their container.

"THE CLAIM THAT THEY ARE LIVING IN A TENT DOES NOT REFLECT THE TRUTH"

Following the reports that the family was staying in a tent, the Kahramanmaraş Governor's Office stated in its announcement, "Posts made with the claim that our martyr's family is living in a tent do not reflect the truth," and added, "Tents have been completely removed in Kahramanmaraş, and our earthquake-affected citizens have been placed in Container Cities or personal containers have been delivered to them. In this regard, in addition to the tent given to our family in the early days of the earthquake, a container was provided upon the family's request to reside on their own land."

"THEY ARE RESIDING IN A TENT"

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki refuted the Governor's Office with a post he made. Özhaseki stated that the family of the fallen soldier was using the container as a storage unit and staying in a tent.

Minister Özhaseki used the following expressions in his X post:

"The precious family of our martyr from Kahramanmaraş, Müslüm Özdemir, decided to use the container allocated to them after the disaster of the millennium as a storage unit of their own volition and began residing in a tent. In line with the preferences of our martyr's family, if they wish, our housing in the reserve area is ready, we will provide it from there; if they wish, we will finish the construction of our houses that have started in the neighborhood where they live within about 1 month and provide them from there. We will continue to look after the legacies of our martyrs and those they left behind. May God make all our martyrs neighbors to our Prophet in His paradise. I once again wish God's mercy upon our heroic soldiers and a speedy recovery to our wounded Mehmetçik."
