Governor's Office announces: 14 areas in Şırnak declared 'temporary special security' zones for 15 days

In a statement issued by the Şırnak Governor's Office, 14 areas within the city and its districts have been declared "temporary special security" zones for a period of 15 days.

The Governor's Office announced that 14 areas located between the city center and the districts of Cizre, Silopi, Uludere, Güçlükonak, and Beytüşşebap have been declared "temporary special security zones" between December 12 and December 26.

The statement included the following remarks:

"Within the provincial borders of our province; in order to ensure national security, protect public order and safety, prevent the commission of crimes, protect fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the rights and freedoms of others and general public order, prevent the occurrence of violent incidents, and forestall any potential negative situations, pursuant to Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 32/A of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565; the Cudi Mountain Region, Bestler Dereler Region, Kurt Mountain Region, Kureşin Region, Karaçalı Hill Region, Kel Mehmet Mountain Region, Serin Valley Region, 2088 Elevation Hill Region, Küçük Su Yolu Region, Gabar Mountain Region, Altın Mountain Region, İncebel Mountain Region, Oymakaya Region, and Tanin Tanin Region, located within the borders of Şırnak's Central, Cizre, Silopi, Uludere, Güçlükonak, and Beytüşşebap districts, have been declared 'Temporary Special Security Zones' for a period of 15 days between December 12 (inclusive) 2023 and December 26 (inclusive) 2023, in order to prevent citizens who may be considered to travel to the aforementioned regions from being harmed by illegal elements in said regions and by the measures to be taken against them."
