Governor's Office announces! Which roads are closed to traffic?

The Istanbul Governor's Office has declared a 4-day ban on demonstrations across the province following detentions that included Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. In line with this decision, many roads were closed to traffic and some metro services were suspended as of this morning. So, which roads are closed to traffic and what are the alternative routes?

WHICH ROADS ARE CLOSED?

The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that all types of meetings, demonstrations, and press statements have been banned across the province for 4 days between March 19 and March 23. The statement included the following: "In order to maintain public order and prevent potential provocative actions, all types of meetings, demonstrations, and press statements have been banned between March 19-23 in accordance with Article 11/C of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 15/H of the Police Duties and Powers Law No. 2559."

Within the framework of this decision, various measures will be taken, including the following:

As of 06:00 on March 19, 2025, the closure of the Emniyet-Fatih Station (including all passenger entry and exit points) and the suspension of services on the M1A Yenikapı - Atatürk Airport and M1B Yenikapı-Kirazlı metro lines operated by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Metro A.Ş.,

The closure of the Taksim Station (including all entry and exit points) and the suspension of services on the M2 Yenikapı-Seyrantepe-Hacıosman metro line.

Furthermore, it has been decided to close certain avenues and streets to vehicle traffic and to utilize alternative routes.

3-) Akşemsettin Street and all roads leading to this street

4-) Kocasinan Street and all roads leading to this street

5-) Mütercim Asım Street and all roads leading to this street

6-) Oğuzhan Street and all roads leading to this street

7-) Akdeniz Street and all roads leading to this street
