Gözde Şeker: My insistence on saying goodbye was not met with a response

Şeker announced in her broadcast last night that she would be leaving Halk TV, saying, "Tomorrow will be my final broadcast on Halk TV."

However, Şeker did not appear on this evening's broadcast. Şeker said, "Actually, as I announced yesterday, I wanted to say goodbye on air. But it was not possible. Just as I learned by chance that I would not be able to go on air, my insistence on saying goodbye to the audience was also not met with a response."  

In her statement on social media, Gözde Şeker said, "I have left Halk TV. Actually, as I announced yesterday, I wanted to say goodbye on air. But it was not possible. For 3 years, we met on the Halk TV screen, sometimes at the crack of dawn, sometimes until the middle of the night. From the studio, from party congress halls, from the earthquake zone, from the middle of a war, or from in front of prisons, I tried to tell and convey the truth to you.

I apologize to anyone I could not reach or help enough. Endless thanks to my friends with whom I fought shoulder to shoulder under the roof of Halk TV during these 3 years, and to the unique Halk TV audience who did not withhold their support in both difficult and happy days," she said. 

MESSAGE TO PRISONS

Addressing those watching her from prisons, Şeker said, "I wanted to say goodbye on screen this evening most of all to be able to reach the prisons with my voice. A special greeting to Silivri, Edirne, Buca, Kandıra, Bakırköy, and Metris. I ask those who have the opportunity to pass this on. Thank you, goodbye," she said.
