Grim picture! Minister Yerlikaya shares holiday accident figures
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 38 citizens lost their lives in 618 traffic accidents on the 5th day of the Ramadan Feast holiday.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced a 9-day holiday for public employees, and on the 5th day of this period, dozens of citizens lost their lives in traffic accidents.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that 38 citizens lost their lives in 618 traffic accidents and said the following:
"On the 5th day of the holiday, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 618 traffic accidents occurred. 339,285 vehicles were inspected. Speeding and radar-related penalties were issued to 21,807 vehicles, and other penalties were issued to 16,650 vehicles.
In the first 5 days of the holiday (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), a total of 3,071 traffic accidents occurred. Unfortunately, 38 of our citizens lost their lives. 5,026 of our citizens were injured. I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to our injured."
