Gültan Kışanak and Öztürk Türkdoğan named as DEM Party's Ankara candidates

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) has shared its mayoral candidates for metropolitan and provincial municipalities, including Ankara and Bursa, with the public.

Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan announced the candidates they will field in the local elections to be held on March 31 during a press conference at the party's headquarters.

Ayşegül Doğan stated that the DEM Party is continuing its "urban consensus" policy and that this policy establishes a foundation for democratic politics from the local to the central level.

Describing the "third way" strategy adopted by the DEM Party as one that "represents realistic solutions to problems that imposed blocs and outdated politics have failed to overcome," Doğan continued her remarks as follows:

"We are approaching a threshold where the urban public, not urban rent, will win. With this approach, we have met with thousands in the field. We have reached the social and political dynamics of the cities."

Ayşegül Doğan announced that the regions where urban consensus has been achieved are Mersin, Akdeniz, and Esenyurt. She also stated that the candidates in Urfa were determined within the scope of the urban consensus.

Doğan stated that negotiations are also ongoing in Adana and some districts of Istanbul.

Ayşegül Doğan noted that negotiations in western provinces are not being held solely with the CHP, adding that talks for Izmir are also continuing and have not yet been concluded.

Doğan announced the candidates as follows:

Ankara - Gültan Kışanak and Öztürk Türkdoğan

Bursa - İhsan Seylan and Bilmez Erboğa

Urfa - Cemalettin Ekmen and Gülser Yıldırım

Antep - Selman Tutumlu

Malatya - Abdulvahap Ekim and Sevin Şimşek Bayram

Konya - Gülbahar Gündüz and Bülent Kılıç

Kocaeli - Hasan Özgüneş and Selda İlgöz Koçyiğit
