Great fear was experienced in the central Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır after two people fired shots into the air with a pump-action shotgun in front of the Şehit Mehmet Karaaslan Secondary School.

''STUDENTS EVACUATED''

According to the report by Amidahaber, two individuals whose names have not yet been learned went to the front of the school and fired shots into the air with the pump-action shotguns they were carrying while students were present. While the individuals who fired into the air fled the scene following the intervention of staff in front of the school, there was great anxiety within the school building.

Upon notification of the incident, 112 emergency and police teams were dispatched to the front of the school. Seeing the heavy presence of police and ambulances, some families came to the school and took their children home. While children in the school's kindergarten were evacuated, it was observed that the families experienced great panic.

''ATTACKERS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY''

Following the work carried out by teams affiliated with the Diyarbakır Security Directorate, the attackers were apprehended with their pump-action shotguns and taken into custody.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

The Diyarbakır Governor's Office denied allegations on social media and in some media outlets that the armed public order incident was directed at the school.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was said, "Regarding the news appearing on social media and in some press outlets concerning an armed public order incident alleged to be directed at the school; there is nothing directed at the school. It is a matter of a feud between brothers that happened to occur in the vicinity of the school. The individual is being apprehended."
