At a time when the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) indictment is being heavily debated and the government's pressure on the CHP is increasing, Gürsel Tekin has come to the fore with allegations that "feces" were smeared in his office.
Speaking to TGRT at the CHP Istanbul Provincial Building, Gürsel Tekin stated regarding the matter, “There have been a few negative incidents before, but we tried to resolve them internally with the understanding that ‘dirty laundry should be washed at home.’
However, when very ugly issues that broke the camel's back emerged, we filed a complaint together with our colleagues. I hope that as a result of the investigations, we will all see who the perpetrators are,” he said.
WIDE-RANGING INVESTIGATION
The report stated that following the incident, authorities notified the police and teams were dispatched to the scene.
The report also provided information that statements were taken from cleaning staff, security camera footage was being examined, and a "wide-ranging investigation" had been launched into the incident.
