Gürsel Tekin targets opposition media! A groundbreaking statement on Aziz İhsan Aktaş

While speaking about internal debates within the CHP and the allegations made against him, Gürsel Tekin specifically targeted Halk TV, Sözcü TV, and Now TV. Stating that these channels had not invited him on air for 40 days, Tekin said, "I call them 'Evil TV'." Expressing his criticisms on various issues ranging from disciplinary processes within the party to the Aziz İhsan Aktaş file, Tekin said he wanted to meet Aziz İhsan Aktaş, asking, "What kind of powerful man is he that he managed to enter 37 CHP municipalities?"

Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency by the decision of the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, made evaluations to the Sabah newspaper, known for its proximity to the government.

Responding to questions from journalist Tuba Kalçık, Tekin conveyed the recent developments within the CHP and reacted by claiming that names who have served the party for many years are being excluded.

Opposing the statements made about him, Tekin used the following expressions:

“You cannot erase our CHP membership with a single signature. We have 40 years of labor and ideals. Moreover, according to the bylaws, reasons such as corruption, theft, disgraceful crimes, or treason are required to be expelled from the party. I have done none of these. While people who have dedicated their lives to this party are left out in the cold, if informants who caused the arrest of hundreds of CHP members are kept in the party, I will rebel against this situation.”

“THEIR MEMBERSHIP SHOULD BE SUSPENDED, THEY SHOULD GO CLEAR THEIR NAMES AND RETURN”

Touching upon the Aziz İhsan Aktaş case, Tekin stated that the CHP ignoring the allegations would not solve the problem. Tekin spoke as follows:

“A person is open to all kinds of mistakes; the important thing is how you, as the CHP, will rectify these mistakes. In the CHP tradition, if someone has made a mistake, there is only one method. Their membership is suspended, they go clear their names and return. Now, Aziz İhsan Aktaş is appearing on screens and naming party officials. Our friends whose names are mentioned should go to the Speaker of the Parliament and demand that 'our immunity be lifted.' They should go, clear their names, and return to the party. Ignoring these allegations does not change the truth. The file is there; denying it does not change the content of the file. We cannot solve the problem with a wholesale denialist approach.”

"I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO MEET AZIZ İHSAN AKTAŞ; WHAT KIND OF POWERFUL MAN IS HE THAT HE MANAGED TO ENTER 37 CHP MUNICIPALITIES"

Stating that he wanted to meet Aziz İhsan Aktaş, Tekin said, "What kind of powerful man is he that he managed to enter 37 CHP municipalities?" Saying "A person is open to all kinds of mistakes," Tekin continued, "Aziz İhsan Aktaş is appearing on screens and naming party officials. Our friends whose names are mentioned should go to the Speaker of the Parliament and demand that 'our immunity be lifted.' They should go, clear their names, and return to the party. Ignoring these allegations does not change the truth. The file is there; denying it does not change the content of the file."

“I CALL THEM ‘EVIL TV’”

In his statements, Gürsel Tekin also expressed his criticisms of Sözcü TV, Halk TV, and Now TV in harsh language. Stating that these channels closed their screens to him, Tekin expressed his reaction as follows:

“Sözcü, Halk TV, and Now... I call them 'Evil TV'. They didn't put me on air for 40 days. But they put Aziz İhsan Aktaş's partners and friends on air. Despite them, I will appear on screens and look them in the eye and tell them who they are doing business with. This was what bothered me the most. They used to constantly put me on their screens. But despite them, I will appear on those television screens and look them in the eye and tell them what kind of organization they are involved in and what kind of sins they have committed.”

“THIS REMARK WAS UNBECOMING”

Tekin also stated that he did not find the statement by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in which he said "we are tolerating it," to be correct. His evaluation regarding Özel's words was as follows:

“It saddened us. We worked together, we put in years of effort. Such a remark is unbecoming for a person like me who was raised in the school of this party and has served only it for 40 years. I wish that instead of saying those words, he had asked, 'Who dragged this party into the corridors of the courthouse?'”
