Haluk Levent and Hasan Can Kaya buy a house for a martyr's family

Haluk Levent, founder of the Ahbap Association, announced that he and comedian and actor Hasan Can Kaya have purchased a house for the earthquake-affected family of contract soldier Müslüm Özdemir, who lost his life in a clash in the Operation Claw-Lock region.

Ahbap Association founder Haluk Levent and comedian-actor Hasan Can Kaya have provided support by purchasing a house for the family of contract soldier Müslüm Özdemir, who lost his life in the Operation Claw-Lock region. In a statement made on social media, Levent noted that the furniture for the house would be provided by singer Melek Mosso. Furthermore, Levent drew attention to the double standards that exist during days of mourning.

Levent shared the following in his post:

"Let me say what is on my mind: Unfortunately, the concept of double standards is used a lot in my country. For example, there is a backlash against those who make music or hold concerts on days when we have martyrs, but at the same time, there is no backlash against musical celebrations when a goal is scored in a football match. We have not been able to overcome this as a country. I have perhaps canceled nearly 100 concerts in my musical life. Every canceled concert also causes economic damage. From the hard-earned money of the 16-17 person music crew to the local tradespeople in that region. Then I made a decision. On the day we have a martyr, I started donating that concert to their family on my own behalf. I wanted both the hardworking musicians and the tradespeople not to lose out, and for those coming to the concert to accompany my songs for our martyr. This continued like this.

Last week, I called the family of martyr Müslüm Özdemir. I saw the image of them living in a tent. I asked the family. They told me that the Kahramanmaraş Governorship and the Dulkadiroğlu District Governorship had visited them, were interested, and that they were even entitled to the houses to be built. I said, 'Since that is the case, our martyr has a promise of a house to you, and we want you to spend this interim period in a house.' And I offered them a house. They accepted. Hasan Can Kaya also said, 'Brother, I will cover half of it.' And we bought the house in our mother's name. Just a moment ago, they received the title deed for the 2+1 apartment on Tekerek Street in the 12 Şubat district.

The house is newly built. We examined the earthquake regulation documents and handed it over. Melek Mosso will cover the furniture. They will have moved into the house within 3 days. I would like to thank our Kahramanmaraş Governor, Mr. Mükerrem Ünlüer, who did not spare his support for AHBAP volunteers in the region on this matter, the landlord who gave a nice discount, the real estate agent Taner Barışık who did not take a commission, and every friend of mine from the artist, TV series actor, and sports world who wrote asking 'How can I support?' for the house, one by one.
