Haluk Levent makes statement on social media after detention: Wait for the real bombshell

The first statement from Haluk Levent regarding the process following his detention has arrived.

In his social media post, Levent stated, "Wait for the real bombshell. You will see in the statements I will make soon."

Haluk Levent, who was detained yesterday as part of an investigation into the AHBAP Association, made his first statement on his social media account. 

Levent said, "Wait for the real bombshell," and included the following remarks:

My dear friends,

The evening before I was detained, I sent a message to Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan. I have continued to send messages every day for 15 days.

I said: "Mr. Minister, they are trying to associate my private life with Ahbap. Please come, come urgently; audit everything from the earthquake process to today and share it with the public. Do not associate my personal debt-credit relationships with Ahbap."

I know it is difficult and will take time to uncover the truth under this bombardment, but in the end, our innocence will be registered.

My dear friends,

Wait for the real bombshell. You will see in the statements I will make soon. You will learn how this process came to be from the very beginning and you will be astonished.

Let me state again: Ahbap is completely outside the scope of my personal debt-credit relationships. However, there is a persistent attempt to associate it with this. Time will show everything."

RESPONSE TO HALUK LEVENT'S STATEMENT FROM BÜLENT TURAN

Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan responded to Haluk Levent again via social media.

Turan stated that there are 103 thousand associations in Turkey and that the audits conducted on these associations are not arbitrary.

Turan used the expression, "Civil society is a first-degree protected area of democracy that belongs to all of us. Let us leave the decision to the judiciary, not social media."

Turan included the following statements in his post on his X account:

"Approximately 103 thousand associations in our country are audited by both Civil Inspectors and Association Auditors in accordance with the Law on Associations No. 5253 by our Ministry's General Directorate of Relations with Civil Society. These audits are not carried out according to arbitrary messages or requests, but in line with the administration's risk assessment, requests from judicial/administrative authorities, or complaints, and the findings are shared with relevant institutions, primarily the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices. Civil society is a first-degree protected area of democracy that belongs to all of us. Let us leave the decision to the judiciary, not social media."
