As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Ahbap Association, an investigation has been launched against singer Haluk Levent on charges of "violating the Law on Associations," "laundering assets derived from crime," and "membership in an organization."
Levent, for whom an arrest warrant was issued as part of the investigation, was detained in Bursa and brought to Istanbul.
It has been learned that Levent will be tried on charges of "violating the Law on Associations," "laundering assets derived from crime," and "membership in an organization."
The investigation file includes allegations that Levent placed bets totaling 990 million TL between 2020 and 2026, lost 390 million TL during this period, and that 120 million TL was transferred from the Ahbap Association account to the account of his assistant, Yeliz Kaya.
MONEY MOVEMENTS IN MASAK REPORTS DRAW ATTENTION
MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board) reports prepared as part of the investigation, along with account movements and technical and physical surveillance efforts, were examined.
The examinations determined that the suspects carried out high-value money movements inconsistent with their financial profiles and transferred large amounts of money among themselves. It was also noted that the suspects were found to have deposited large sums into gambling accounts to place bets, lost significant amounts of money through this method, and carried out "chain-linked title deed transfers" among themselves in a short period of time.
18 SUSPECTS DETAINED IN OPERATION
As part of the investigation, 18 suspects considered to be connected to Ahbap Association members and employees were detained in a simultaneous operation conducted on July 12, 2026.
It was reported that in addition to numerous digital materials, large amounts of cash, gold, checks, promissory notes, and various documents were seized during searches of the suspects' addresses.
It has been learned that the investigation and inquiry procedures are ongoing.
