In the record, it was noted that Levent said, "Since I was told that the topics I wanted to answer regarding the politicians and state institutions that I just asked to be entered into the record were not relevant to the question (for me, it is relevant, and very much so), I cannot give my statement and I am exercising my right to remain silent for the subsequent questions." The defense attorney also stated, "We concur with the client's statements. Our client intends to provide a detailed statement regarding the subject of the investigation, but our right to defense has been restricted. For this reason, we are unable to provide a detailed defense."

SÜLEYMAN SOYLU DETAIL

In the lawyers' report, it was stated that Levent mentioned former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, but this statement was not included in the record on the grounds that it was "incompatible with the question," that Levent's right to defense was restricted for this reason, and that the report in question was drawn up for this reason:

According to our colleague's statement, the interrogation process was interrupted because the statements that the client, Haluk Levent, who is in custody, wanted to make during his interrogation were interfered with and some of his statements were not entered into the record.

It is stated that when the suspect client mentioned a person named Süleyman Soylu during the interrogation, it was not included in the interrogation record on the grounds that it was 'not a response compatible with the question,' that his objection to this situation yielded no results, and that the client's right to defense was restricted; this report has been prepared together with the bar representative, Attorney […] ([…]), who is present on behalf of the Istanbul Bar Association Center for Lawyers' Rights."
