In the evening hours, a hand grenade was thrown at a tea house by an unidentified person or persons in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district. The hand grenade did not detonate, and employees fled outside in a panic and notified the police.
Upon receiving the report, police teams arrived at the scene and took extensive security measures in the surrounding area. Bomb disposal units took the grenade away for examination.
While there were no injuries in the incident, police teams have launched a large-scale operation to apprehend the suspect or suspects.
